HEXAFLOW® detects whether there is any flow in the piping and opens or closes an electrical contact accordingly. It is normally used in industrial heaters, air-conditioning, refrigeration, water treatment, additive pumping and process systems in general. By means of the flow switch it is possible to control devices such as pumps, burners, compressors, refrigerators, motorized valves, to turn on indicator and alarm devices and regulate equipments for dosing water additives. In heating systems, especially, the flow switch has the objective ofswitching the burner off in case of a lack of medium circulation within the water heater circuit. A lack of circulation would otherwise impair the operation of the temperature-sensitive safety and protection devices.

NXG MTD make HEXAFLOW®  flow switches are used wherever reliable control for min. or max. liquid flow is required. The flow switch operates on the paddle-bellows principle. The flowing medium exerts a force on the paddle and thereby actuates a micro switch. The interchangeable paddle, in conjunction with an adjustment screw, allows for a wide variety of switching points and adaptation of the instrument todifferent pipe sizes. The internals of the instrument are separated from the process by the bellows, making the HEXAFLOW®  an excellent choice for dirty media.
